Blood bank refrigeration

For use in storing pharmacy and biological materials in laboratories, blood transfusion centres and hospitals, all products are 93/42/CEE registered and are specifically designed to store blood and blood derivatives.

Plasma Freezers

We offer an extensive range of versatile plasma freezers, which operate from -20°C to -40°C. They can be used in laboratories to store samples as well as fresh frozen plasma (FFP).

Available in multiple sizes from countertop and under bench to single and double door free-standing units. You can also have added peace of mind as some models offer twin refrigeration systems.

All plasma freezers are certified as class IIa medical devices under CEE directive 93/42 and benefit from:

Smart plasma thawer

KW Apparecchi’s smart plasma thawer completely thaws frozen plasma (FFP) in around 15 minutes, safely and uniformly.

Benefiting from futureproof technology, this rapid dry bath plasma thawer, is available in two pocket – up to four plasma packs – or three pocket versions – up to six plasma packs).

The smart plasma thawer uses an infra-red barcode reader to provide total traceability, user reporting, and product and thawing information.


Platelet incubators and agitators

Platelet incubators and agitators by KW Apparecchi, are designed and manufactured for the safe storage of blood platelets.

Available as bench-top, under bench or free-standing, the incubators can hold up to 680 bags, with the capacity of the agitator being from 48 bags to 180 bags. Larger incubators can also accommodate multiple agitators.

At QED Scientific, we also offer other products for our whole blood storage solutions. These include:

Ultra-low temperature freezers -86°C Ultra-low temperature freezers (ULT) are used to store blood plasma and other biological samples for the long-term. Our ULT’s from Haier Biomedical have a 5-year warranty and benefit from nine different capacities ranging from 100 to 828 litres. There are also twin cooling systems available.

KW Apparecchi Scientifici’s ULT’s have capacities from 85 to 806 litres with both under bench and vertical versions available, benefiting from double-stage refrigeration.

All models are certified as medical devices.



Wire-free temperature monitoring system

Our wire-free monitoring system is a highly accurate, simple and adaptable solution for the monitoring and recording of temperature and humidity in any environment. Perfect for freezers, refrigerators, ovens and humidity / stability / test chambers.

With multiple features such as real-time alerts, exportable data and easy-to-use monitoring, this system is simple to install and set-up, so there will be no engineer costs.

Accurate within +/- 0.3°C, additional probes can be added to the system, which can measure -250°C and +1100°C with a range of up to 900 metres dependent on probe type.
